Ms Caressa Cameron from Virginia won the 2010 Miss America title on Saturday night, by belting Beyonce's song Listen and telling parents to combat childhood obesity by curbing television and video games.

The 22-year-old broadcast journalism student beat 53 hopefuls to win a US$50,000 ($70,000) scholarship. In her interview segment, she urged children to "expand your mind, go outside and get to see what this world is like".

While Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron was declared the winner of the Miss America Pageant 2010, the first runner up was Miss California Kristy Cavinder, and the second runner up was Nicole Blaszczyk, Miss Michigan. The winners in the swimsuit competitions were CC Barber, Miss Oregon, Miss New York Alyse Zwick, and Miss Puerto Rico Mimi Pabon. Thank god for Selena Gomez. While Miley's showing off her boobs to the queen, the Wizards of Waverly Place star is all class and elegance at the UNICEF Ball in L.A. So this strapless Marchesa gown's def an older look for the cute kiddo, but she's at a very glam, grown-up function. (Besides, the fuchsia helps keep it sorta youthful.) We'll take a little overly mature and tasteful over trashy any day.

Hot damn, Mariah Carey goes from ugly duckling to fabulous diva at the Capri film fest. She is smoking-hot in a not-too-body-hugging burgundy sequin halter gown, marabou stole and luscious wavy locks. This doesn't mean she's off the hook for yesterday—she could've been 2 for 2 instead of 1 for 2! Obvi she can kill it on the carpet when she wants to. We just wish she wanted to all the time.
